Tim's cataract surgery a week ago went really well. He sees so much more clearly now -- he doesn't even need to wear glasses in order to see distance. This is the first time Tim hasn't worn glasses since he was a kid.
After five weeks off of chemo in preparation for the cataract surgery, Tim will start back on chemo later this week. It's been a real treat for him to be off chemo for a while -- not having ongoing nausea, difficulty eating, ongoing bouts with diarrhea and just not feeling good. We've really enjoyed having somewhat of a more normal life and being reminded of what our lives used to be like before our cancers and chemo upended everything. Now, Tim will be getting back to getting chemo every two weeks or so. While we're not looking forward to dealing with the side-effects again, we also realize that so far the chemo has been effective at keeping his tumor in check. These days our choices are limited.
